If you have a mooring in the Town of Barnstable, these are the things worth knowing.
The Town of Barnstable requires every mooring to be inspected out of the water every three years. We check the chain, swivel, pennant, and ground tackle top to bottom. If anything is worn, we replace it before the mooring goes back in.
Spring commissioning means your mooring goes back in the water for the season. We paint it, inspect the hardware, and set it in your permitted location. The mooring is ready before you need it.
Standard mooring service is $150 for spring commissioning and $150 for fall decommissioning, or $300 for the full year. Barnstable Harbor pricing may differ due to heavier tides and full anchor removal requirements. We quote before any work begins.
You need a mooring permit from the Town of Barnstable Harbormaster. Millway mooring field permits are currently available for boats up to 21 feet. Check the town waitlist for availability. Once you have your permit, we build the mooring to your boat's specs and set it in the designated area.
We service moorings throughout the Town of Barnstable on Cape Cod. That includes Barnstable Harbor, Cotuit Bay, North Bay, and West Bay. Barnstable Harbor is home base where Connor is on the water every day.
Most boat owners in Barnstable pull their moorings between October and November. Contact us early in the fall to get on the schedule. Your mooring comes out of the water and gets stored for winter so it is not sitting in freezing conditions all season.
